In my roll as editor I work closely and intimately with lawyers for producing high-end, original content, mostly blog posts, intended for publication on their corporate website and distribution via social media channels.
These lawyers are smart, sharp and energetic, and advise on highly complex business transactions or represent clients in high profile litigation, yet they often encounter the worst kind of writer’s block, being convinced they have nothing interesting to write about, no good story to tell, or at least nothing their audience would care enough about to actually read.
So I keep having to remind my talent that they are far from Dull, thousands of miles from Boring and oceans apart of Bland.
And if they don’t believe me I show them this map and the article in The Sun where it was published:

“The New South Wales town of around 6,000 residents was named after London-born William Bland — who was anything but.
He was transported as a convict in 1814 after killing a sailor in a duel in Bombay. He was later pardoned and went on to found the Australian Medical Council.
Dull, in Perth and Kinross, made headlines around the world when it twinned with Boring, Oregon.
The two have grown so close that last year August 9 was made Boring and Dull Day in celebration.”
